Our light filtering lining is a soft cream fabric that lets light gently pass through your window dressing. It’s designed to provide a neat and consistent look to the back of your blinds or curtains, which is especially handy if you have different coloured options in rooms on the same side of the house.
Made from a blend of cotton and polyester, this lining is designed to provide privacy while still allowing filtered natural light into the room. All our curtain linings are attached at the top and sides of the curtain fabric, while the bottom is sewn separately. This creates a small air pocket that improves insulation and allows the curtain to drape beautifully.
Our thermal lining is a lovely three-layered cream fabric that lets light gently filter through while helping to retain warmth in the room. It also keeps the cooler air behind it, making it an excellent choice for insulating your space.
Using the same base fabric as the light filter lining, the thermal option includes a soft second layer of bonded wadding. This adds an extra level of insulation while still allowing some filtered light through. Thermal lining is ideal if you’d like your curtains closed during the day to maintain privacy and improve energy efficiency — all without darkening the room so much that you’d need to turn on a light.
Our blockout lining effectively blocks out bright outside light and ensures complete privacy when your window dressing is closed. It’s perfect for those rooms where you want to create a shaded environment, like bedrooms or guest rooms, to help you enjoy a peaceful night’s sleep.
Our blockout lining features a light-blocking layer sandwiched between two outer layers with a soft brushed texture. This offers full thermal benefits along with 100% light blockout, making it perfect for bedrooms, nurseries, media rooms, or any space where darkness is essential.
Linings for Roman Blinds
All of our Roman blinds are crafted using a soft furnishing fabric on the front, with a separate lining sewn around all four edges at the back. This means the lining is not visible from the front — it sits neatly behind the face fabric and forms a complete backing layer. This method not only gives the blind a beautifully tailored finish but also creates an air pocket between the fabric and the lining, which helps improve insulation throughout the year. We offer a choice of three premium lining options, depending on the level of light control and insulation you're after:
Light Filtering (1 Pass)
This is a lightweight lining made from a cotton/polyester blend. It gently filters light to softly illuminate your space while offering privacy and protecting the fabric from sun exposure. You’ll still see some natural light pass through.
Thermal (2 Pass)
Our Thermal lining includes an extra layer of soft wadding to help regulate temperature throughout the year. It offers filtered light and privacy while improving warmth in winter and keeping rooms cooler in summer — ideal for energy efficiency.
100% Blockout (3 Pass)
This lining completely blocks out light thanks to its triple-layer construction. It’s the best option for bedrooms or media rooms where light control and insulation are a priority. It also helps reduce energy consumption by improving thermal performance.
All of our linings come in a soft off-white tone, though the exact shade can vary slightly depending on the type of lining selected.
